PTFE coating
If a process gas on a fluoride monomer basis such as tetrafluoromethane (CF4) is used, the radicals can easily polymerise in the low-pressure plasma. leicht polymerisieren. The resulting PTFE polymers condense on the substrate surface. The coated surfaces are hydrophobic and lipophobic. When rubbing against other surfaces, they have a low slide friction and low abrasion.
A PTFE coat provides for the epilamisation of surfaces which are to be oil-lubricated. Epilamisation prevents the dissolving of the oil film.
