Adhesion

Adhesion of two materials to each other due to intermolecular interactions. As strong an adhesion to the substrate as strong as possible is the decisive factor for the stability of a coating. In particular, the adhesive forces between the molecules of a substrate and the molecules of a coat must be higher than the cohesive forces within the coating medium.
