Semiconductor block technology
Collective term for the processes and technologies used for the manufacture of solid-state circuits (monolithic integrated circuits). In semiconductor block technology, all active and passive functional elements are produced inside a semiconductor block (area up to 100 mm2, thickness up to 0.4 mm) which simultaneously serves as substrate, so that components and component carriers (chip) consist of one material and are inseparably linked to each other (opposite: hybrid technology).
