Printing
To learn more about the various options for surface printing, read the chapter ⇒ Printing processes. Before surfaces can be printed, they almost always require surface cleaning and in many cases, in particular for plastics, also activation and/or etching . Printed surfaces can be protected by subsequent coating.
1. Clean
Low-pressure plasma does not stress the substrate chemically or thermally. Therefore, practically any solid material can be cleaned in the plasma.
2. Activate
A prerequisite for the adhesion of binding partners when painting, gluing, printing or bonding is good wettability of the surface. This ensures a modification of the surface energy by means of a plasma treatment
3. Etching
Nanostructuring of surfaces to increase surface area and improve adhesion
Printed surfaces can be protected by a subsequent coating.
