SMD Surface Mounted Device

Electronic circuit in which the electronic components are connected to the conductors directly and not via wire contacts. This production technology is referred to as Surface Mounting Technology SMT. It is much easier to automate than the conventional production technology where wire contacts are threaded through bore holes in the printed circuit board and soldered up in the back.
