Polymethacrylimide (PMI)

A polymer from the family of polyimides. The temperature and heat resistance of these materials is higher than that of most other plastics. Polymethacrylimide (PMI) is primarily used in the production of hard foams used as a core material in sandwich components which are subject to high thermal and mechanical stress. These sandwich components, primarily topped with layers of fibre-reinforced plastic, are state-of-the-art materials in the aerospace industry.
