Plating coats consist of noble metals and some less widely used metals such as cadmium or chromium.
Plating substrates as a corrosion protection is frequently found in electrical engineering. In electrical engineering, plating coats are made of conductive materials whose adhesiveness can be optimised by means of plasma treatment.
