ICP (Inductive Coupled Plasma)

A strong alternating electromagnetic field is generated by a high alternating current. The electromagnetic field is strong enough to generate a current in some gases. The gas is transformed into an intensive high density plasma.

The method is used when high ion and electron densities are required. One important application is mass spectroscopy to analyse gases.

Temperatures of ICP can reach 6000 - 10.000°C.
