Release agents

Substances usually based on organic greases or oils or silicones which are introduced into the mould or die before a casting process (metal casting or injection moulding of plastics) to ensure optimal separation of mould and moulded item. By means of plasma treatment, release agents such as silicones or oils can be removed from the surface, in particular those interfering with subsequent process steps (e.g. bonding).
