Polyvinyl acetate (PVA)

Polyvinyl acetate (PVA) is the polymer of the unstable monomer vinyl acetate. PVA is a thermoplastic material which is primarily used in dissolved form and for coating. verwendet wird. PVA is a component of adhesives, adhesive tapes and carpet coatings. Since PVA is considered to be harmless, it is also used to coat cheese rinds and sausage casings. PVA coats can also be produced by means of plasma polymerisation and have a hydrophiliceffect.
