Plastic activation

Increasing the reactivity of a plastic surface by removing or chemically converting inactive substance on the surface. Examples are the removal of carbon compounds or the formation of polar groups on polyolefines. In many cases, an activation if the necessary precondition for a subsequent coating process to ensure sufficient wetting respectively adhesion of the coat. The most versatile method is plasma activation. In addition, methods such as flame treatment,, corona, or chemical activation baths are available.
