Lab-on-a-chip

By reason of their microscopic size, a multitude of microfluidic systems fit in a very small space. Thus, an entire analysis unit complete with channels, microtiters, micropumps and microvalves can be accommodated on a glass chip. These systems are now commonly called “lab-on-a-chip”, or “LOC” for short.
