Flame spraying
Flame spraying is a thermal coating process. Different coating materials are heated by a combustion gas oxygen flame and sprayed onto a base material with additional compressed air. Nowadays, this process is rarely used because the flame changes the coating materials. Furthermore, the adhesion of the coat is limited. For these reasons, plasma spraying is now preferred to flame spraying since it yields much better results. Since a variety of process parameters is possible, there are many possible coating types.
