How Does VOOM Work?

Order VOOM through Plasma.com and in turn you will receive a VOOM Start-Up Certificate.  When you receive the Start-Up Certificate, call VOOM and give them the certificate number. VOOM will get you set up and running.  That's all there is to it!  You will see a credit equal to the price of the Start-Up Certificate applied to your first VOOM bill.

The VOOM $250 rebate applies to:

1.     All Video Projectors capable of displaying a resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher.

2.     All LCD TV’s greater than 30” that are HDTV (which generally translates into a resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher)

3.     All Plasma TV’s that have a native resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher (these are classified as true HDTV units), or those projectors that have the ability to display a native widescreen image.

4.     All DLP TV’s and Rear Projection TV’s that possess the ability to display a 1080i or 720p signal.

The VOOM $250 rebate does not apply to:

1.     All Video Projectors that are classified as SVGA (which means a native resolution of 800 x 600).

2.     All DLP TV’s and Rear Projection TV’s that do not have the ability to display a 1080i or 720p signal.

3.     All Plasma TV’s that have a native resolution of 848 x 480 or 853 x 480.  These units are commonly classified as EDTV units).

The Basic Offer : No Monthly Commitment

The Basic offer is unique among the satellite industry because it offers no monthly commitment. Listed below is what you pay if you decide to rent the VOOM Satellite Receiver:

2.   $199.00 Installation and Activation fee for 1 VOOM Receiver. This charge will be applied to your first bill. If you require additional VOOM Satellite Receivers, the installation charge is $50.00 per receiver on the same visit.  Subsequent visits to install additional VOOM Satellite Receivers are $199.00 for the first additional and $50.00 for each additional Satellite Receiver installed on that visit.

3.   $9.50 per month equipment rental fee for each VOOM Satellite Receiver.

4.   $5.00 Program Transfer Fee per month for each secondary VOOM Satellite Receiver beyond the first.

5.   Monthly programming fee (varies depending on which package that you choose).

Listed below is what you pay if you decide to purchase the VOOM HDTV Satellite Receiver:

1.      $99.99 Start-up Fee payable to Plasma.com. This entitles you to a programming credit with VOOM of $149.99.

2.   $499.00 Purchase Price for the 1st (Primary) VOOM Satellite Receiver. This price includes the installation. This charge will be applied to your first bill. If you would like to purchase additional VOOM Satellite Receivers, the price per receiver is $299.00.  Subsequent visits to install additional VOOM Satellite Receivers will cost $499.00 for the first additional and $299.00 for each additional Satellite Receiver purchased and installed on that visit.

3.   $5.00 Program Transfer Fee per month for each secondary VOOM Satellite Receiver beyond the first.

4.   Monthly programming fee (varies depending on which package that you choose).

We are an authorized reseller for the VOOM HD Satellite Service. This means that if you purchase VOOM through us, you receive a discount off of the MSRP (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price).

Purchasing the VOOM Satellite Service from Plasma.com is easy! Just click the appropriate Buy Now button. Plasma.com does not need to know what package you wish to purchase at this time. Once you purchase VOOM, you will be issued a Start-Up Certificate that is redeemable when you call VOOM to arrange for the installation of the satellite service. It is at that time that you may choose the Basic VOOM Package or the Va Va VOOM Package, and any additional options therein.

VOOM is available to anyone located within the continental United States (not available in Alaska or Hawaii).  You must have a landline phone and you must have the right for all the VOOM equipment to be installed at your address.

If you rent your home, you will need to get approval for installation from your landlord. If you own your home, but have an association that governs your home, VOOM suggests that you contact your association for any rules concerning the installation. VOOM can schedule your installation, but you will assume all responsibility for the location of the equipment.

The Fine Print – Equipment and Installation Details

There is no “fine print” to scrutinize. VOOM offers a true “bumper-to-bumper” program for their customers.  It includes everything that the VOOM System is comprised of:  VOOM Receiver, cables, remote control, off-air antenna and satellite dish.  It covers the installation, reception, and all hardware issues.  If a problem is found with the manufacture of some element (remote or VOOM Receiver for example), VOOM will fix it or replace it.  If the dish or off-air antenna ceases to transmit, for example, VOOM will dispatch a technician to correct the problem.  For any repair or service issues, please call VOOM directly at 1-866-931-VOOM.

The VOOM Standard High Definition Professional Installation includes:

1.      Installation of the VOOM satellite dish and the high definition antenna in the most appropriate available location. The wiring and the connection of the VOOM Satellite Receiver Unit to 1 television using up to 125ft of coaxial cable.

2.   Connection of a telephone line from the VOOM Satellite Receiver to a phone outlet. VOOM will supply up to 25' of appropriate cabling to connect.

Please note that installations requiring special accommodations or work requiring more cable may incur additional charges.

Additional charges may also be due in the case of situations requiring additional time or hardware. Such situations may include, but aren't limited to, houses over 2 stories tall, houses with limited visibility of sky due to trees or other obstructions (line of sight issues), work requiring cables or telephone cords to be hidden in walls or moldings, setup and or connections of televisions or home theater systems, and other customer requests for a customized installation.

Any additional charges will be identified and a quote will be provided to the customer for approval before work begins.
