VOOM Package

VOOM offers two packages when you subscribe to the service.  The Basic VOOM Package includes 26 high-definition stations, 21 of which are exclusive to VOOM!

The VOOM Package is $49.90 per month.  It includes 21 VOOM Exclusive HD channels, more than 60 of cable’s most watched channels, plus 23 music channels.  The VOOM Package also includes the HD MarqueePack (featuring Universal HD, TNT in HD and Discovery HD Theater) and the VOOM SportsPack (featuring ESPN HD, Fox Soccer Channel, The Tennis Channel, The Golf Channel and Fuel).  A complete channel by channel line up is provided here.

You also have the option of adding the Premium PlusPack channels to the Basic VOOM Package for $19.90 per month.  Each Premium PlusPack is detailed below:

HBO PlusPack (2 HD channels, 7 SD channels)

Va Va VOOM Package

The Va Va VOOM package carries everything that the Basic VOOM Package carries, however you also get HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, and the STARZ! Movie Premium PlusPacks. That’s 36 movie channels and ten additional HD channels. The Va Va VOOM package is $89.90 per month. A complete channel by channel line up is provided here.

Other Programming

Playboy Hot HD ($19.90/month)

Sometimes it's fun to be an adult! Now you can enjoy the biggest names in adult programming on Playboy Hot HD. Our exclusive high definition channel features content from Playboy TV and Spice Channel, including Night Calls and Spice Clips. This channel is available separately from either the Basic VOOM Package or the Va Va VOOM package for $19.95 per month.  You must be 18 years or older to purchase Playboy Hot HD.

DirecTV recently announced that they will bring on 500 local HD channels by late 2005. The key word in that sentence is local. DirecTV’s local channels are split over 70 markets. This means that you, as the consumer, will not receive 500 HD channels. At best, you will receive 10 additional HD channels, many of which will not be broadcasting HD full time.
