The new HR-XVC14B/15S DVD/VCR offers enhanced features designed to accommodate the growing number of video sources. In addition, this tuner-free model offers a quick and easy solution for recording TV programs by connecting to a cable or satellite set-top box using an AV cable. The user selects the desired program using the set-top box electronic program guide and timer function. JVC’s new Timer Link feature senses the signal, automatically powers up and begins recording. Recording automatically stops and the recorder shuts off when the set-top box turns off. JVC research shows that the vast majority of set-top boxes come equipped with a timer.
Underscoring JVC’s commitment to providing customers with products that incorporate the latest in digital technology, the new HR-XVC14B/15S provides playback of DivX (5.0) files, which is one of the world's most popular video compression technologies with over 250 million downloads worldwide. The DivX video technology offers high-quality video at seven to 10 times greater compression than MPEG-2 files, enabling full length films to easily fit on a CD or be delivered over broadband connections.
The HR-XVC14B/15S also offers unique capabilities for enjoying movies, music and images. Along with DVD playback, including both DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW discs, the HR-XVC14B/15S is also capable of playing CD, CD-R, CD-RW discs and JPEG file discs. Easy disc access is provided from JVC’s exclusive navigational interface. In addition, the HR-XVC14B/15S provides multichannel Dolby Digital, DTS and 3D Surround Sound audio playback.
